ANSWERING 24/7 | HABLAMOS ESPAÑOL
While others say justice for all, we say justice for you.
A wet supermarket floor in Warwick, an unlit stairwell in a Providence apartment building, an unsalted walkway in January. Property owners have a duty to keep their premises reasonably safe. When they don't, the fall is theirs to answer for.

Most claims come down to three questions. If the answer to all three is yes, it is worth a conversation, and the conversation costs nothing.
A spill, ice, a broken step, poor lighting, a loose mat, an unmarked level change. The question is whether the owner knew, or should have known, and failed to act.
Fractured wrists and hips, knee and back injuries, and head injuries are typical. Falls are a leading cause of serious injury in older adults.
An incident report at a store or a written notice to a landlord creates the record. If you did not, it is still worth calling.
What we do for you
From the first call to the final payment, this is what working with us looks like.
Tell us what happened. We tell you whether there is a claim, and we say so plainly if there is not.
Every call, letter, and recorded-statement request goes through us from the first day. You speak to no adjuster alone.
Preservation letters, camera footage, and witness accounts are secured before they disappear, usually within days.
We track every bill, record, and lost workday while you concentrate on treatment.
The contingency fee is set out in writing before we start. If there is no recovery, no attorney's fee is owed.
Phone, email, and the client portal, with a lawyer who knows your file. Hablamos español.
Slip & Fall
Stores overwrite surveillance within days. Our first letter demands it be kept, along with sweep logs and the incident report.
How long the hazard existed, who was responsible for checking, and whether anyone complained before. Employees, logs, and prior incidents answer this.
Photographs, measurements, lighting readings, and building code comparisons where stairs, railings, or surfaces are involved.
Treatment records, surgical opinions, and the projected impact on mobility, work, and independence.
Compensation
Not every category applies to every case. Which ones apply to yours depends on the injury, the evidence, and the insurance available.
Emergency care, hospital stays, and surgery
Ongoing treatment, therapy, and medication
Projected future medical care
Wages lost while unable to work
Reduced earning capacity going forward
Property damage
Physical pain, during recovery and after
Emotional distress and loss of sleep
Scarring and disfigurement
Loss of the activities that made life yours
Loss of companionship within a marriage
Through the responsible party's insurance
Through your own uninsured or underinsured coverage where it applies
By settlement, or by verdict if a fair settlement is refused
With every deduction itemized in writing before you sign
Right now
What you do in the first days affects what the claim is worth months later. None of this requires hiring anyone.
1
Report the fall before you leave
Ask for an incident report at a business, and for a copy. For a rental, notify the landlord in writing.
2
Photograph the hazard immediately
The spill, the ice, the step, the lighting, and your footwear. The hazard will be cleaned up within minutes.
3
Get names
Witnesses and the employee you reported to. Independent witnesses matter most.
4
See a doctor
Even for a fall that seems minor. Hip and wrist fractures are sometimes missed at first.
5
Keep the shoes
Insurers argue footwear. Keep what you were wearing, unwashed and unrepaired.

Common questions
Often, if the ice had been there long enough that a reasonable owner would have treated it. Rhode Island weighs how long after the storm the fall occurred and what the owner did about it. Weather records and the timing of your fall are central.
No. Rhode Island uses pure comparative negligence. If a jury assigns you some share of fault, your recovery is reduced by that share, not eliminated.
The deadline. Rhode Island requires written notice to the city or town within sixty days of a fall caused by a defective road or sidewalk. That is far shorter than the general three-year limit, and it is strictly applied.
Yes, though it is harder. Medical records dated close to the fall, witnesses, and photographs help establish what happened. Call sooner rather than later.
No. Slip and fall cases are handled on a contingency fee. The consultation is free, there is no hourly billing, and the fee is a percentage of any recovery set out in a written agreement. If there is no recovery, no attorney's fee is owed.
